BeyondGP is an organisation privately founded and developed by Dr. Carmel O’Toole and Dr. Shelley Gray. It is entirely independent of any third party/pharmaceutical company funding.
The first goal of Beyond GP is embedding GPs into the heart of ADHD coordination and management in Australia
We are BeyondGP
We provide training to clinicians and the general public with the primary focus of addressing the ADHD epidemic. We seek to do so primarily through upskilling primary health-care providers and others that work directly with the condition while also advocating for systemic reform.
BeyondGP is pleased to announce that we are an approved CPD training provider with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).
Our training courses seek to
- Improve the lives of people with ADHD in Australia
- Alleviate the access block which prevents many individuals from receiving adequate treatment for their ADHD
- Decrease the burden felt by the overwhelmed and often under- appreciated practitioners grappling with this condition
- Improve patient outcomes and quality of life
- Address systemic and cultural perceptions regarding ADHD (in Australia and abroad)
- Develop a community of practitioners who are supported, connected, empowered and well-equipped to tackle this condition
BeyondGP training courses have been created to fulfil two fundamental goals
To transform the understanding and medical management of ADHD in Australia
To impart to General Practitioners personal and professional skillsets currently untaught in medical school, which wil leverage their abilities to allow them to take their practice to the next level.
