Unit 3 - Psychostimulant Prescribing in Adult ADHD

Unit 3 is concerned with management of the patient after they come back from the psychiatrist and after a delegation letter has been received/there is co-prescribing.

Upon completion of Unit 3, students will:

Have reviewed the adequacy of delegation letters & understand the state by state regulations governing prescribing, including instruction in the use of programs such as safe script

Be familiar with the mechanics of authority scripts (PBS, non-PBS)

Be familiar with all of the ADHD specific medications (including first line, second line & third line), and be able to describe both how to use them & how to dose-titrate for complex prescribing

The aim is to give confidence and information to prescribers & co-prescribers in order to treat the patient to help them achieve their goals and best outcomes.
